AAWAB: In Defense of Vital Government Services
http://aawab.blogspot.com/2010/04/in-defense-of-vital-government-services.html
Monday, April 12, 2010. In Defense of Vital Government Services. It’s that time of the year again! This Thursday is Government Services Day! Some call it tax day.). A few rational facts. To keep in mind…. 1) Despite the complaints you may be hearing about “tax-and-spend liberals” who are raising your taxes, Americans still pay the THIRD-LOWEST taxes amongst industrial nations. We pay some of the lowest taxes in the world. And we have some of the best public services. [1]. I could keep going, but you get ...
AAWAB: The best of times
http://aawab.blogspot.com/2010/04/best-of-times.html
Friday, April 16, 2010. The best of times. My favorite musician is and continues to be the Rhode Island slam poet-cum-independent hip-hopper, Sage Francis. He continues to turn out amazing songs with amazing beats and, most importantly, amazing lyrics. He has a new album dropping soon and he will be touring, but it is bittersweet. I am very excited. But I am also just waiting patiently. He has signaled many-times that he is close to the end of his touring and music-making. You can hear the song, here.

Friday, April 30, 2010. Well, that didn't take long. I didn't think this would be an issue, but unfortunately due to my grown-up job, I'm going to have to shut this blog down. I know that will really dissapoint the two of you who read it, but, eventually, with time, you'll get over it. You will still be able to follow my sparkling wit on my Facebook page where I will occasionally post "Notes.". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). My Own 2015 "Best Of". Monday, September 30, 2013. Halloween Horror Watch #1: Curse of the Werewolf and Valley of the Gwangi. It's everyone's (my) favorite time of year! I'm going to try to maintain my horror write-ups as in years past, but we'll see how many I get to this year. I optimistically stacked the first 31 slots of my Netflix queue with appropriate movies, so the intent is there. I promise. The Curse of the Werewolf. Thanks to my good friend Howard, who transferred his PAL version to NTSC (who's the real pal, huh?

Monday, September 24, 2012. A Message to My Football Loving Friends. It's becoming increasingly popular to hate on the NFL replacement refs. Do a quick Deadspin search. There is absolutely no reason for the owners to give in if people keep watching the game, no matter how much people complain. It's just like NBC's coverage of the Olympics. What incentive did they have to show things live when they were scoring huge ratings. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Blogs of My Friends. Art, Design, Love, and Fun.

Sunday Scribblings
Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Thank you for 400 weeks of writing! When Laini and I started Sunday Scribblings in March of 2006, it was to encourage both of us to write. There weren't very many other writing prompt blogs at that time and we wanted to do something to inspire other people as well. In the days before Mr. Linky we would link all of the responses by hand! I never dreamed that 400 weeks later, I'd still be writing prompts. The prompt for this week is: Finale. As always, happy scribbling! Posted...
