The experiences and discoveries of a couple learning and living in the south. Monday, December 12, 2011. Asheville, NC - Biltmore House and Gingerbread Houses. My husband rocked Thanksgiving this year! He cooked the turkey, and made amazing stuffing and apple pie from scratch. We went to Asheville, NC for a short weekend trip Thanksgiving weekend- we went to a German restaurant for dinner one night, and my husband was in HEAVEN. It was pretty authentic. Stephen's beloved spaetzle, roladen and sauerkraut.

The experiences and discoveries of a couple learning and living in the south. Thursday, September 23, 2010. Alligators, a grocery deal, and Jason Mraz. That was pretty cool. Hello, Mr. Alligator. It was really pretty and peaceful there. To do the self guided tour, you follow numbers that are posted on trees; it took us through lily pad fields (is that what you call them? It's crazy to see these tall trees growing straight out of the water. I love these flowers! Last time I saw these, I was in Hawaii.

Thanks, Kathryn, Mark, and Ila for making it down to spend some time with us. We took them on a tour of the dental school; the weather was absolutely perfect that weekend- warm and sunny. The experiences and discoveries of a couple learning and living in the south. Tuesday, December 7, 2010. Charleston Pictures and Thanksgiving in NYC. I hope ya'll like pictures, because I need to catch up from the last two months of no posts. We went and toured a submarine recently. Can you say claustrophobia? There were so many dials and switches, and the living and working spaces were TINY- a submariner's life is NOT for me! I'm a big fan). We went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art- this place is HUGE!

My husband swore into the Air Force today- he applied for a 3-year dental school scholarship with the Air Force Medical Corp, and was awarded the scholarship a couple of months ago. The scholarship will cover 3 years of dental school, and then my husband will serve as a dentist in the Air Force for 3 years after he is done with school. Today was the official swear-in.
