September 30th, 2014. Feed in Tariffs and Value of Solar Tariffs. Feed in tariffs (FITs) and value of solar tariffs (VOSTs) incentivize solar growth through what is often referred to as a ‘buy all, sell all’ arrangement between homeowner and utility. That is, FITs and VOSTs require homeowners to sell all of the electricity generated by an onsite PV system to their local utility/electric company. The utility then pays the homeowner for the electricity. Sign up below to show your support for Net Metering.
