Travels thru Life: August 2012
http://lynnandjim.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Home again, photos ready - 8/21. It has been a busy two weeks - after arriving in LA, we visited my Mom in Oceanside for a few days - a mini family (girl) reunion with my daughter, granddaughter, and niece in town in time for my mom's 92nd birthday. Poor Jim: 5 women to deal with! We spent a day at Disneyland! Except Mom.) Some of us hadn't been there since the 70's and I discovered that 3 roller coasters in less than two hours was 1 too many. Still, it was a fun day. Nasty look...

Thursday, August 18, 2011. August 16 - Traveling home. I hate to think about the size of bug that this swatter is designed for. Cubic watermelon - probably quite the space saver for shipping! Our trip to the airport was quick and security was fast, so we had a bunch of time to kill there. The Duty Free store had more little bottles of wine and Bailey's cheap, so I bought a few beverages for the plane. Audrey came back from her wanderings and announced that she had found Magnum Bars! We had the morning to...

Sunday, July 29, 2012. Drive Back to UB - 7/29. Road closed for repairs, no temporary road provided - DIY. So here are the guys pushing, like it could help move a 9 ton bus. Prezwalski's horses on a distant ridge - 18X lens helped a lot. Lynn (Eichinger) and Jim Adams. Location: Kempinski Hotel Khan Palace, East Cross Road, Peace Avenue, Bayanzurkh district, Ulaanbaatar. At Monkh Tenger - 7/28. The hills we hiked up with our camp in the foreground. Ovoo at the top and a clue to what we walked down. Our l...

Saturday, February 16, 2013. The Long Trip Home, January 25 to 27. So much for spending the next day deciding on jackets. Jim drifted off as we worked on the price. Alex had recommended this place and said to mention him, but the staff (not the owner) were clueless about who he was. They quoted a 6.7 to 1 exchange rate, which made the price quite reasonable, so I gave them a credit card. OOPS! January 26 and 27. Lynn (Eichinger) and Jim Adams. South Patagonia, January 20 to 24. We took a short walk aroun...

Sunday, September 29, 2013. Sept 29 - Budapest on Our Own. There were no formal tours today that sounded interesting, so we slept in, had a leisurely breakfast, and headed out across the chain bridge to walk up to the Castle Hill that we had ridden to on the bus yesterday. The Chain Bridge is the oldest permanent bridge over the. Danube in Budapest and is an interesting. Type of suspension bridge. Locals enjoying the Castle District Promenade. This building shows the different window designs on. After di...

Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Oct 30 - The Longest Day: Home Again. Of course, the bigger challenges are re-integrating into our real life, starting with going through 6 weeks of mail, unpacking and putting it all away, fixing things that went kafluey while we were gone (like our fancy 'garage' tarp and our satellite receiver), and restocking the kitchen so I can cook again. We had a blast! So many intriguing choices! Lynn (Eichinger) and Jim Adams. Tuesday, October 29, 2013. Last moments with our car.
Travels thru Life: December 2010
http://lynnandjim.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Our flights to Zagreb, Croatia, got us there on time for the start of our next adventure. With all the snow across the US and Europe, we had been checking the success of our scheduled flights for a week or so, and everything looked like it should work. Then we arrived in Minneapolis, our first stop, and discovered our plane to Paris had mechanical problems! It's below freezing and I have become a TOTAL California weeny about it! Tomorrow, we drive to the coast and board our ...
Travels thru Life: November 2013

Thursday, November 28, 2013. Nov 27 - We Ate Turkey Testicles! One of the traditions of the village they live in, Huntley, is the annual Turkey Testicle Festival, featuring loud music, adult beverages, lots of people packed into a tent, and, of course, the featured food. The forecast for Huntley kept dropping as the time to fly neared, and we got to experience light snowfall too. Fortunately, the temperature in the tent was quite tolerable. The four of us - Jerry, Kristen, Jim, and me - staying warm.

Julianne Paintings, music and musings
Julianne Paintings, music and musings. Monday, July 19, 2010. It's been quiet up here, I haven't painted much the past year or so, more focussed on music and other things. But it's time to brush off the cobwebs, as I'm off to Italy in August for a month of outdoor landscape painting at the Jerusalem Studio School summer program,. Posted by Julianne at 12:45 PM. Links to this post. Sunday, February 08, 2009. I'm currently in Australia enjoying the wonderful weather! Last Light, Lake Illawarra; oil on linen.
