Sunrise Orchard and Irises was established in 2007 when Garry Griffin and Maggie Asplet purchased a six acre property in Ormond, on the main highway about 20kms north of Gisborne. A mostly young orchard with its main crop being export Meyer Lemons supported with Parent and Late Navel oranges which are sold at the local Farmers Market. We share our orchard with four beautiful Samoyed dogs Little Miss, Mega, Phoenix and Bella along with our ginger and white cat, Ivy.

Just what do we have? At our orchard, you will find a number of differnt types of irises, from the bearded irises (our commercial ones) to others, water loving one, bulbous (dutch)irises that we sell as cut flowers at the market. Slowly the 'house gardens' are being redeveloped and incorporating different types and species of irises. This is very much a work in progress. Postage will depend on the size of each parcel. Currently we produce a range of lemon honeys, jams, jelly, marmalades, chutneys and sauces. During the spring season, we have an excellent selection of cut flowers, both daffodils and dutch irises. All year - we supply free range eggs. During the winter to spring season come along to the Gisborne Farmers Market to and sample our Watercress and Walnut pesto. A very popular product. Lemon Honey - flavours available are -. Lemon and Passionfruit Honey. Lemon and Lime Honey. Lemon/Lime and Passionfruit Honey.

We have both Gisborne Parent Navel Oranges and a Gisborne Late Navel available. At present, you can purchase fresh Navel Oranges from us at the Gisborne Farmers Market every Saturday morning, or email us and we can arrange to send a parcel to you. Beautiful Meyer Lemons are available virtually all year around. Starting time is 9.30 until 12.30pm. A fabulous range of products can be found. You will find us there each week with our stall operating out of our motorhome.
