Sunshine and Shadows Life with DID. My Journey with Dissociative Identity Disorder. Sunday, January 25, 2015. Coming up for Air. My life of late has been busy, and hectic, and stressful, and good. I have some new things coming up - some good, some will tax my system, but I know how to eliminate the things that aren't helpful when possible. I also want people to understand why sometimes I am a little (or as the case may be, a lot) off during some of our interactions. And I don't want the world to see me.

I think this song applies to survivors of any kind of abuse. The ability to roar or speak out about our abuse and against our abusers is empowering. To anyone out there who is feeling powerless, listen to this song, take the words to heart, and ROAR! I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath. Scared to rock the boat and make a mess.

Saturday, December 4, 2010. I think we wish ourselves to be okay when we find ourselves not wanting to work through something particularly difficult. Many things have happened since I last posted. The major one, of course, is having a new baby at home. She is so precious and adorable and it is so hard to let her sleep or be in someone else's arms without feeling like I've had a limb amputated. Thursday, August 19, 2010. Wow I just really suck right now at keeping up with my blog. So much is going on right now in my life that it's hard to find the time. I have three of my younger sisters staying with me right now and it has been crazy at my house! I've been able to see my therapist once since I last wrote and that seemed to help me out a lot. This is our new children/adults' book How The Zebra Got His Stripes. This is the e-book and here's hoping the hard copy to be released soon.
