Life in a Flock. A blog about my life with my husband, my dogs and my birds. Saturday, December 8, 2012. Busy, busy, busy. It's been a very busy couple of months here. The birds are doing well, as are the dogs and the humans that share the house with them. Metasoma by Rachel Johnson. My sister is a sculptor among other things. She has found a love for welding and making metal creatures like the amazing scorpion depicted above and below. Odonata by Rachel Johnson. I would have gotten a shot from the side ...

Life in a Flock: February 2012

Life in a Flock. A blog about my life with my husband, my dogs and my birds. Monday, February 27, 2012. During the last few weeks with my migraines coming with barely any notice, I have found myself trying to preempt any loud bird noises. This is not easy with a room filled with conures. In the morning s John goes in and feeds them while I am still asleep, thus saving me from their screams of "Hey! Thats the food guy! Do you see the food guy? I see the food guy. Hey food guy, FEED ME! Give it to me!

Life in a Flock. A blog about my life with my husband, my dogs and my birds. Monday, January 30, 2012. I am not a Doctor Who fan, but my husband is. So because I love him very much, when I heard there was going to be a Time Lord Fest in Tampa, Fl. I made plans to take him to it. My camera is still acting up so we had to resort to Johns phone camera to get pictures so the quality stinks, but hey, pictures. John with Doctor #5,(Tom Baker) definitely one of the best costumes there, at least I think so.

Life in a Flock. A blog about my life with my husband, my dogs and my birds. Thursday, October 4, 2012. Bird songs are a little different when you live with a parrot, or in my case, a bunch of parrots. Its not those pretty wild bird songs, though I guess if I could get a tape of them I could probobly hear them echoing off the walls at all hours. ;). Links to this post. Monday, October 1, 2012. You guys remember Lou right? Our beautiful Green-wing Macaw that wants to eat me in his spare time? My sister wa...

Life in a Flock: July 2012

Life in a Flock. A blog about my life with my husband, my dogs and my birds. Friday, July 13, 2012. Now that things are winding down, and John's fingers have pretty much healed, he's been getting some love from a sweet little birdie with a much smaller beak. ;). It's Kissy face time! Seriously, from the moment John gets near her cage, 'til long after he puts her back, all she does is make kissy noises. (She only makes kissy noises for me when she's nervous.). A brief moment of "OMG Momma is too close!

Life in a Flock. A blog about my life with my husband, my dogs and my birds. Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Well I have never claimed to have an exciting life. In fact, sometimes I prefer dull and boring since the latest "excitement" has included sick and hurt animals and thats not the excitement I'm looking for. So since we really had no plans other then meeting friends online this weekend, John and I decided to venture out of the house for an hour or so and see what we could find. Are you my new Mommy? The sta...

Life in a Flock: Jaws The Remake, with Birds!

Life in a Flock. A blog about my life with my husband, my dogs and my birds. Saturday, February 2, 2013. Jaws The Remake, with Birds! Trouble has been living up to her name the last few days. She is determined to rid "Her" house of Scarlet and it has gotten worse since she "got her" yesterday. At first, there was some amusement that I was very good at not showing. (No smiles/giggles/laughs etc) I corrected behaviors as I caught them. I always told Trouble no and shooed Scarlet to a safe distance&...The b...

Life in a Flock: November 2011
http://speak-beak.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Life in a Flock. A blog about my life with my husband, my dogs and my birds. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Tings are finally returning to normal here. Birds are seemingly calm and noisy at times. Duke is back to screaming when he doesn't get his way, unlike the just screaming all the time because of all the hustle and bustle around him, and Echo has returned to the playful clown he has always been. Links to this post. Tuesday, November 29, 2011. For a long time I knew I wanted to have some artwork of her...
