Fizzle or Forest Fire. Doc’s Letter III →. Doc’S Corner III. I like him and love him. Any thoughts? You sound like a wonderfully responsible father, and I admire your commitment to your family. That being said, I have two questions for you: what kind of relationship did you have with your father? And did you get everything you needed from your father. A major mistake we men make is that we show our love by providing, when our children, and our spouses for that matter, prefer our presence.

Relationships… Something to laugh at. DEAR DOC →. I also believe the key to our relationship with our children is the way we communicate with them. All too often, when we know someone well or when we are in a position of power, we relax our standards of communication. Developing Your Child’s Financial Literacy: Part 3. GOTTMAN: THE MAGIC RELATIONSHIP RATIO →. I enjoy having Hunter, my son, home. He’s a student at the Maters School in Dobbs Ferry New York. Last night, while going to get some Chinese food to take out, he brought me up to speed on his all boys a capella group, the Naturals. The group sounds like it’s coming together nicely. And I’m proud of his efforts, he’s President of the group. This entry was posted in Doc's Thoughts. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Having short- and long-term finical goals is only the beginning of teaching our children how to manage money effectively. Having financial goals provides them with an incentive to use their money wisely. But to use money wisely, they must use it intentionally. I hear the groans. How am I going to get my child to keep a record of his expenditures? In addition, you periodically...

It allows me to fulfill a mission that is important to me: providing psychological knowledge that people can use to help them live more satisfying lives. DOC’S LETTER →. Developing Your Child’s Financial Literacy: Part 3. When I was 17 and had my first job, my Uncle Ken said, when I got a raise to bank the difference and live on what I had been earning. The idea sounded good, but one I knew I would not follow. 40 years later, how I wish I had. There is a fun part to this project for both of you, reviewing the bank statement at the end of every month. Few things are more rewarding than watching money grow.
