Women in Middle Eastern Literature and Film. Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Beheading the Cat, The Metallic Crocadile, Does This Make My Head Look Big and Guest. December 3, 2009 at 10:42 AM. I had forgotten about her connection of arranged marriages and eHarmony.com and i agree with you that i would rather have my family match me than a computer program, but so many people attest and put faith in eHarmony, but scoff at arranged marriages and act as though they are a hindrance to a womans freedoms.

ENGL 1100: September 2009
http://saralynnbush.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Women in Middle Eastern Literature and Film. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. I watched the documentary tonight about the ongoing battle for oil in the Middle East called "Blood and Oil.". I thought it was really interesting how it related exactly to what we discussed in class on Tuesday. How we (the U.S.) puts shady people in power to help our own goal of maintaining the flow of oil into the U.S. and then we have to go back later and take out those people like Saddam and Osama who WE. While reading the no...

Sara Soenen - The Middle East in the West: Gold Dust
http://sarasoenen.blogspot.com/2009/10/gold-dust.html
Sara Soenen - The Middle East in the West. Monday, October 26, 2009. After reading the novel. I can really admit that I wasn't a big fan of the book. This may be because I missed out on the discussion on Tuesday, after reading other people blogs I thought that I missed a good class period! But, I guess I should go on and blog about my feelings toward the book. Again, a little slow at first, but overall a good read. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). War in the Land of Egypt. Sara Soenen - The Middle East in the West: Paradise Now
http://sarasoenen.blogspot.com/2009/10/paradise-now.html
Sara Soenen - The Middle East in the West. Monday, October 26, 2009. I just finished watching Paradise Now, and again wow! This movie was very powerful, I almost cried haha. The movie was well done, and I think it would be extremely easy to show for a large group of students. Paradise Now would be an amazing way to actually get to the heart of the issue. Suicide, and suicide missions are completely hypocritical to any religion! Molly E. White. November 6, 2009 at 4:46 PM. December 3, 2009 at 12:56 PM.

http://andrewrhodes.blogspot.com/2009/12/memories.html
ENGL 1100 Arabic Focus. Wednesday, December 16, 2009. When I found out that this story, Five Years of My Life. Was a memoir of a man who had been treated the horribly by American soldiers, I thought I was going to be sick. The things that the poor guy went through were unbearable not to mention inhumane. He was only a tourist and because he looked different and spoke a different language than the soldiers he was singled out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Women in Middle Eastern Literature and Film. Friday, December 11, 2009. I really enjoyed,. I couldn't believe how graphic this novel was, just even in the very beginning when Lewis' Uncle Saad was telling him about having to join Saddam's army. In the United States, with the exception of the draft, if someone does not want to be in the military, they don't have to. I thought the passage immediately after showed how the uncle was truly trying to talk his nephew out of his desire to escape the army. Behead...
