Thursday, January 8, 2015. Abi (making a mad face to be silly) and Kaitlyn and Cody. At the end of the trail was a field with a couple horses the kids wanted to pet. Eleanor starting off strong! Monday, September 1, 2014. End of Summer Adventures. David, Nathaniel and Grandpa Burt took Cody and Joshua on a two-day backpacking trip to Upper Lena Lake this year. Monday, February 16, 2015. This past weekend we decided the weather would be mild enough to venture out on a winter camping trip. The kids were SO EXCITED to go camping in the winter! Sunday, October 5, 2014. Every year our Stake has a mother/daughter campout at the end of September. This year I took Abi and Kaitlyn and we stayed in one of the cabins at Zion's Camp. We decided it is nice to have a wood stove for warmth, but not worth the mattresses that are covered in very crinkly plastic. Every time someone moves a fraction of an inch it is SO LOUD! Saturday, August 16, 2014. We returned yesterday from camping at the ocean with Anna and Gabe and their kids, as well as Grandma and Grandpa Burt and Jonas. We went to Beach 2, Rialto Beach and Ruby Beach. The kids had lots of fun together. Eleanor rolled around in the sand enough that it got EVERYWHERE! Saturday, March 7, 2015. Theo Chocolate Factory Tour. One of the nice things about being part of a homeschool co-op is that we have to opportunity to attend field trips. Today Abi, Cody and I went to Seattle to tour the Theo Chocolate Factory and see how chocolate is made. It was really interesting! They showed us a real (but very young cocoa tree) and then lots of pictures of the pods (fruit) that grow on the tree trunk because each mature pod can weigh up to FOUR pounds!
