Rectus Femoris (RF) - Support

Mark the center of the quad (between the ASIS and the top of the kneecap). Tip: Use a tape measure and felt tipped marker. Apply gel to the probe or directly on muscle. Place probe on muscle with a slight, resting pressure. The length of the probe should be in the direction of the muscle width. Locate the center of the Rectus Femoris (RF) by sliding the probe from left to right. The center of the RF is found by centering the bottom of the facia on the screen. Understanding the basics of the MuscleSound score. After an athlete has scored a muscle at least 5 times, we can begin to determine which muscles are most indicative of changes in glycogen stores. Once a muscle has displayed a scoring range of at least 10 points it could be considered an indicator muscle. The software will instruct which 3 muscles are the indicator muscles, so that it is no longer necessary to score all muscles. Terason - Adding an athlete. First, create a new athlete from the app.musclesound.com website:. Click the "New athlete" button from the top menu bar or from the team filter bar. Fill out the form. Copy the ultrasound patient ID by clicking the button next to the field; this will copy the value to the clipboard so it can later be pasted into a form on the ultrasound software.
