Growing up Me: Movies
http://gregdonovan.blogspot.com/p/film.html
I'm not one to watch TV. However, I have been known to watch the occasional movie, more than once. In fact, I usually won't buy one unless I'm prepared to watch it more than a handful of times. Here are some of my favourites;. Pink Floyd The Wall. Pink Floyd The Wall. Is a 1982 British live-action/animated musical film directed by Alan Parker. Based on the 1979 Pink Floyd. The screenplay was written by Pink Floyd vocalist and bassist Roger Waters. S 1962 novel of the same name. From the Russian друг, "fr...

Up North Part II. With a lifelong friend over the past few days up in Noelville, On. The Hylands are a good bunch of people who willingly choose to have in their home someone who goes out of their way to sabotage their day. I give you a slideshow of our goings on, and of the beautiful French and Pickerel Rivers. Facebook not. Wastebook not. The ubiquitous Facebook logo. What is left to be said of Facebook. I find that offensive! Sometime in the early-mid 90's Ontario was in the midst of a discussion/issue/challenge about whether religious school funding should be extended to all religions. There was a case brought about on it, I just can't recall the details. One of the papers representing the media of the day (and remember, no #smartphones #twitter #facebook or #youtube) the Toronto Star. Ran an article on the subject which generated a few Letters to the Editor. Imagine if there were 6? With that we are n...

Growing up Me: Shows
http://gregdonovan.blogspot.com/p/shows.html
I've not been watching TV daily for near 20 years. From that I stopped watching The News. Then shows. Now I have control over what I watch (Toronto Maple Leafs. as an example). This 'gift' I have passed on to my kids, I didn't want them (22 and 19 at time of posting) plopped in front of one. The following (in no particular order. save for the first one) are shows that I've watched and enjoyed over the years. Also known as House, M.D. Is an American drama television series created and produced by Alan Ball.

Growing up Me: And then there was none...
http://gregdonovan.blogspot.com/2015/07/and-then-there-was-none.html
And then there was none. Every beginning has an end, every end has a beginning. That phrase has struck a chord with me the moment I first came across it. After writing and/or blogging online for almost 15yrs (the last 4 under my own name,) I've found myself at a point in time where it has lost my interest. In the days of the Information SuperHighway *snicker* the topics revolved around tech, the burgeoning p2p movement (think newsgroups, DC , ed2k, IRC) and the like. Thank you for reading along.

Of the ubiquitous Candy Crush Saga. Have been under a fire-storm of late. Earlier this week King offered a 48hr window with which to purchase an block of time with unlimited lives, so to speak. Shortly thereafter the connection required to make a purchase (in this case, the Play Store) has been unavailable. Oh the site is there, it is. Google's Play Store, after all. No, there's been an issue within the game itself. Not good timing given Kings IPO offering. You don't turn your back on family,.

Floyd on the beach. Out for a walk today and Floyd comes up on the playlist. It's sorted by 'old' Floyd and 'new' Floyd (mostly albums in their entirety.). Listening to the 'new' stuff again brought back some memories. Having seen Roger Waters. Before seeing Pink Floyd. Was a treat really, as sitting in for David Gilmour. Was non other than Slowhand himself. Eric Clapton. He certainly brought new blood to the music. Gotta say I enjoyed the show. Floyd at the Grandstand. And, being that it was. He had fam...

Growing up Me: Quotations
http://gregdonovan.blogspot.com/p/quotations.html
The following are some inspirational (and at times, disturbing) words I've come across. What you see, is. Argue with reality and you'll lose. but only 100% of the time. Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves. They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night. I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not. We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses. Enlightenment is a destructive ...
