Third Angel Blog: The Paradise Project at the Edinburgh Fringe
http://thirdangeluk.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-paradise-project-at-edinburgh-fringe.html
Thursday, 9 July 2015. The Paradise Project at the Edinburgh Fringe. Third Angel and mala voadora. 8 – 30 August 2015. Not Weds 12, 19 or 26). NORTHERN STAGE at SUMMERHALL. Every day they come in and try again. Is a show rebuilt - slightly differently - each time it is presented. Of all the shows we’ve made, perhaps this is the one where the process, form and subject matter all seem to intertwine the most. Each time we build a new Paradise Project. Will be constructed by Stacey Sampson. We’re reall...

Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Last Live Hull at Street Life Museum? Managed to get to another Live Hull gig at the street life museum in Hull. Unfortunately this is going to be the last one. But I'm sure this won't be the last we will see of Live Hull. There is to much talent in Hull for it to fall silent. Quote from http:/ supportthearts.co.uk/. These concerts cannot stop. There is to much talent out there going to waste. Posted by Graham Warsap. Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, 17 August 2015. Edfringe Diary 2: facing the audience. Postcards from the Edinburgh Fringe 2015, Week 1…. I'm sitting in The Royal Dick pub in Summerhall, typing this with a bandaged finger injury that wouldn't look out of place in The Beano. The perils of cutting out quotes to put on your posters and fliers. So I guess the obvious question is how did it go? How did we do with our first-ever-public-performance-of-this-version-also-being-press-night? That is, er,. Or What I Heard About the World.

Friday, 15 May 2015. On Editing, Paradise and Presumption. In an edit suite at the Northern Media School, Sheffield, there are two pieces of paper stuck on the wall. On one of them is written the phrase:. IF IN DOUBT, LEAVE IT OUT. IF YOU CAN’T WIN, LEAVE IT IN. I have a new article in the new edition of Contemporary Theatre Review. It is happily nestled in the backpages section alongside work by Hannah Silva and Maddy Costa (to name but two). And, it's free to download. You can read it here. Http:/ thir...

Thursday, 31 July 2014. Monthly Film: A PERFECT CIRCLE. July’s Monthly Film is A Perfect Circle. Which we wrote about quite a lot as we were making it:. So I asked Chris to reflect on the actual shoot. He said:. I didn't want to make this film. I wanted to make something entirely different. But we ended up in a studio in Sheffield for two days making A Perfect Circle. Which was a good start. We abbreviate to APC. Climbing with gritted teeth up the ladder to retrieve the footage for a quick mid-shoot revi...

Third Angel Blog: Leeds Library Residency
http://thirdangeluk.blogspot.com/2015/06/leeds-library-residency.html
Tuesday, 23 June 2015. In July we’re in residence in Leeds Library as part of the WordPlay. Some time ago we decided to call the residency Cause and Effect. Thinking we would be developing ideas towards a project with that name. But as sometimes happens, the ‘thing that needs to be made next’ has shifted. We had such a good time making the one-off verbatim piece Labour Intensive earlier this year, and we came away feeling we had only begun to scratch the surface of this idea. We will be resident in Leeds.

Saturday, 22 November 2014. Paradise Project 2: talking about rules. 8220;Okay. This time…”. This week our numbers doubled. Joining Jorge and David (mala voadora) and Rachael and I (Third Angel), were José Capela (mv), Chris Thorpe (TA), Mark Maughan (theatre director, observing and helping) and Hannah Butterfield (our BBC Performing Arts Fund Fellow). That’s a lot more ideas in the room. At some point this week the idea of ‘rules’ is described as ‘finding ways of living together’. This weekend we all tr...

Wednesday, 31 December 2014. The Beauty of the Proof. When the building is finished, you take away the scaffolding. You know how they say, “Proof denies faith”? Well for me, proof gives me faith. Or rather, the way proof is achieved. Someone once said to me: don’t give up on a good idea just because it’s wrong. It takes time to prove something. A long time. Something worth proving, anyway. A first proof is ugly. Inelegant. Long. Way too long. But it’s all there. Check my working for me? And if you’...
