http://www.supsictravelschina.blogspot.com/2010/08/trip-report-4-xian-april-12-2010.html

Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Trip Report #4 – Xi'an (April 12, 2010). Ni hao everybody,. While on the bus tour, we got to talk with many interesting people; a Colombian couple sat near us, and really encouraged us to visit their country. They gave us confidence that Colombia is not the outlaw drug center of the world, and that coming to Colombia would be an interesting addition to our unusual world repertoire of countries visited. That last almost solitary look. We topped off our tour with a dumpling feas...

Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Trip Report #1 – Beijing (March 31, 2010). Ni hao everyone,. Every morning, we start the day with a breakfast buffet of about 50 items, most of which are unknown to us bur resemble foods in a Chinese restaurant in the U.S. Whatever it is, it’s good. We wanted to have tea at the famous tea house called Lao Shee. It may be famous in the U.S., but no one knows where it is here. We searched for almost an hour getting conflicting info from everyone we asked. - w...The teahouse was ...

Ni Hao to all our family and friends -. 8221; LOL) Next, we visited the Lama Temple, the most significant Buddhist temple outside of Tibet with an impressive 18-meter Buddha carved from a single piece of wood (supposedly). Right here in good ol’ China! These Chinese really know how to seal a deal. Tomorrow we leave Pingyao and fly to Xi’an to check out the Terracotta Warriors&#...

Around the Horn on a South America Cruise

Around the Horn on a South America Cruise. Saturday, December 12, 2015. Dallas: JFK and W. Dealey Plaza with the School Book Depository. Window in the School Book Depository where. Oswald fired three shots (note: the cardboard boxes. Seen in the window are just as they were back in 1963). By seeing it in person, we could get a sense of the scale by actually walking around the plaza and visiting the various places so often talked about by newsmen who covered the horror of that day. Took place on Elm St.

Barcelona, Bavaria, and Belfast

Barcelona, Bavaria, and Belfast. Saturday, October 11, 2014. Belfast: The Titanic and the Troubles. Raising a pint at "The Morning Star" pub. In Belfast, Ireland. We found the Irish brogue here very difficult to understand. It was embarrassing because obviously, we are all English-speakers, but sometimes, we couldn't understand a word they were saying. Honestly, we could understand the Germans with their broken English much better than the folks in Northern Ireland! Inside the museum, we took a cleverly ...

Un Appartement à Montmartre

Un Appartement à Montmartre. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. This will be our last blog entry for our month-long trip to Paris, so we are going to use it as a catch-all for some of the things that make this city unique. When Baron Georges-Eugène Haussmann designed the Grand Boulevards of Paris for Napoleon III, he created some interesting architectural challenges that resulted in these intriguing skinny buildings with a footprint that was often not rectangular, but wedge-shaped:. But first, we will begin the trip with a new place: Geneva, Switzerland. Here is the trip in a nutshell:. Geneva, Switzerland - A chance to get an overview of the city (and eat some famous Swiss chocolate). Corfu, Greece - We love the Greek Islands, and many folks think Corfu is the most beautiful of them all.

Friday, April 8, 2016. Here are some interesting facts that we learned about the Icelandic inhabitants and their way of life. During our stay here. Energy is one of the cheapest commodities due to the tremendous amount of geothermal activity and hydro power present everywhere. Actually, the energy is “free” since molten magma is so close to the surface. The citizens only pay a small amount to cover the infrastructure and maintenance of equipment. Incredible India

Tuesday, December 13, 2011. Delhi – Back to Delhi and Back to the USA. Our friend Helene welcomes us back to. Amarya Haveli (hotel) in Delhi. Our flight leaving Jodhpur for Delhi was delayed for over an hour. Of course, we had no idea what was going on since the announcements were unintelligible and there was no English signage of any kind in the airport. The flight was a dream when it finally arrived; a flashy new turbo prop high wing ATR-72/500 took us from Jodhpur to Delhi in little more than an hour.
