Friday, November 02, 2007. Velo Bella's Surf City a Psychosuccess! Velo Bella has been promoting the Surf City Cyclocross Races for 4 years now. This year we dubbed our Halloween Race, Psychocross. And it lived up to its name. In addition to 350 racers and 40 kiddie kross participants, we had over 70 people in our now famous Costume Cross. I have no idea who keeps records of such things, but it sounds like a costume cross record to me. Clickie on the pic below to see the start of the costume cross race.

Surf City CX News. Are helmets required in the costume race? I’m having issues with my hair-do and helmet. Do people mount their hairdos on the outside of the helmet? And if so, how do you do it and make it stay and get it all to still look good. I’m having issues. Can I forgo the helmet for the hair-do for a few slow laps? Or is that against the rules. Surf City CX - Clinics. Let us show you how much fun it can be. Held on October 25th at Souqel High School, the clinic will involve practice on the actual race course. The clinic is taught by local cyclocross experts, including members of the Velo Bella elite team. Sessions begin at 10:00am. Clinic cost is $20 and lunch is included. Juniors are free!
