4th of July Celebration. SURF CITY 5K RUN. Surf City 5K Run. The Surf City Run is the annual kick-off to a full day of activities for the City of Huntington Beach's Fourth of July Celebration. Enjoy a fun and fast 5K course, then stay for the famous July Fourth Fireworks show held off the Huntington Beach Pier over the Pacific Ocean.
