When is the best time of year to surf at Ha’atafu Beach resort? Generally the most consistent large swells coincide with the heaviest winter storm activity in both hemispheres. June to September in the Southern hemisphere and December to February in the Northern Hemisphere. During the other months we periodically get large swells and have excellent surf. However each year seems to differ, occasionally the seasons start early and finish late with the mid-season usually the best. See our Activities page.
