The queue | Kate Von Pixie

Our exile (Surinder Singh route). So we are back in the UK after our forced exile, I had promised an update on coming back with the EEA Family Permit so better late than never! We booked our flight for Friday 13th, it was the date with the cheapest flights so go figure…. After our horrific Ryanair experience, we decided to fly on Easyjet. No problems at check in this time as their luggage rules actually make sense and the luggage limit was not per bag. It was scheduled to land at 22:40. 2 comments on &ld...

The passive aggressive landlord. Our exile (Surinder Singh route) →. Without a doubt my favourite work of art in Berlin. This dude was not far from our first flat here. The Astronaut / Cosmonaut is a piece by French street artist Victor Ash, seen on the side of an apartment block in the district of Kreuzberg. It was inspired by the Cold War space race between the USSR and America. And what better setting than Berlin, a city seen as an icon or centre of the cold war. By katevonpixie . The queue →. I am writing this about our experience moving to Germany under the EU Free movement Directive/2004/EC and getting back into the UK via what is known as the Surinder Singh route. This is my point of view and our experience alone. I have read up on a lot of things but I am not all knowing by any means. We flew through this by the seat of our pants so to speak. I am happy to answer questions and give advice but keep in mind that this is not legal advice. There is no NHS, you need health insuran...

Reichstag | Kate Von Pixie
https://katevonpixie.wordpress.com/2013/07/21/reichstag
The passive aggressive landlord →. Last week I visited the Reichstag, it is the seat of the German Bundestag or federal government. It is free to go in. We just did the dome part, as the tours were all booked out. I highly reccommend booking in advance as they seemed to be turning away anyone without a booking. I believe its because of security, and you also need to show your passport. Overall it was definitely worth seeing and I do plan to go back, possibly at night. By katevonpixie . The passive aggre...

Newer posts →. It’s funny that when I first left Australia exactly 2 years ago, I went straight to Berlin (well after a hellishly long flight and a couple of short transits). Now I find myself back in the same place. On my visit to Berlin, I was lucky enough to see the Tacheles artists’ squat. Now unfortunately most of the artists have left after the relentless pressure that bureaucracy has put on them. By katevonpixie . Astronaut / Cosmonaut →. The passive aggressive landlord. I/we have not had the best luck with landlords, I have to admit. Hell, we only just got our deposit back from our previous landlord and that was only after sneakily threatening legal action (many thanks to the dear husband for that). There are pages upon pages of posts about problem landlords in Germany’s expat website toytowngermany.com. I am convinced it is not in fact us that is the problem here. I think he expected us to do his dishes. Dud...
