Relearning The Wheel: Home Remedies
http://relearningthewheel.blogspot.com/2015/01/home-remedies.html
Investigation, Experimentation, and Modification. On Wednesday, January 28, 2015. 1 Recently I had the beginning of a canker sore. Inside my mouth. Usually, this would get progressively worse over about 3 days and then last a week. This time, I started swishing a teaspoon of coconut oil around in my mouth for 15 minutes as soon as I got up, and by day 3 the canker sore was totally gone and healed! I was pretty impressed! 2 Yesterday I woke up with the beginnings of an awful cold. That I had a store credi...

Relearning The Wheel: Mole in One!
http://relearningthewheel.blogspot.com/2015/03/mole-in-one.html
Investigation, Experimentation, and Modification. On Wednesday, March 18, 2015. We're back to normal eating here, and it's great. I'm starting to seek out raw cheese for the nutrients and picked up our first raw milk share tonight. It's good to have dairy back in my life. I caught a cold this week and made elderberry gummies. They were fine but not delicious, who knows how they perform compared to the syrup? Flowers for the would-be birthday of our first baby that was never born. March 21, 2015 at 5:59 PM.

Relearning The Wheel: Dryer Balls
http://relearningthewheel.blogspot.com/2015/05/dryer-balls.html
Investigation, Experimentation, and Modification. On Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Projects have been done the past couple months and forgotten along the way. Here is one I remember: I bought a number of wool sweaters on Dollar Day at the thrift store, and cut them up for felting. The cuffs and scrap pieces I rolled into balls, and stitched closed. Now I've got wool dryer balls! I also bought fermenting grains from Cultures for Health for the first time. I tried making water kefir. The Run a Muck. And sponsor...

Relearning The Wheel: Anti-Everything
http://relearningthewheel.blogspot.com/2015/01/anti-everything.html
Investigation, Experimentation, and Modification. On Saturday, January 31, 2015. Even though the cold I caught this week passed quickly, I have still felt a wee bit off. Like it would readily pop back into action with half a chance. I decided to make Anti-Everything. Capsules using Modern Alternative Mama's recipe. To kill more bad germs and help my lingering dull headaches. I just pop a couple a day. I think they help. Smoothie: 1/2 banana, almond butter, kale, coconut milk, chia seeds, blackberries.

Hours of uninterrupted, intense mental engagement with a series of words printed on a page. It requires the right environment. No tables, just benches.

It won't be like this for long. I spy 3 children. Oh my, has it been rough around here lately. A willful three-year-old and a fussy almost one-year-old can really drive a mother toward the looney bin. Summer is good for so many, many reasons. Jonas: 11 (and a half) Months. Yesterday he was sitting in his high chair yelling, "Lola! And throwing his food at her. He started waving 'hi', and does a perfect little princess wave where he twists his hand back and forth. It won't be like this for long. We are home today from our week of Christmas Crazy, trying to put our house back together and getting Jonas used to not being held 24/7. #babyproblems. Daphne turned 6, we had many parties, we did our post-Christmas shopping (Hobby Lobby was the best), I made lunch today on my new skillet thing that covers two burners so I can cook lots of food quickly, and I found Christian being super cute, still in his jammies at noon:. Sums up what we'd all like to be doing, I think.

Surprised by Love | Love comes in many shapes and sizes…
Love comes in many shapes and sizes…. May 23, 2014. Sometimes things just don’t turn out the way we expect. And so, my task is to be happy about it or at least not be grumbly about it (Phil 2:14) because this is what God has for me to do. So my spiritual lessons lately have been around the subject of contentment (Yep, that’s right. You still have to learn contentment after you get married. Surprise! It’s a lifelong journey) and seeing the value in the work that I’ve been asked to do. But whatever situati...
