A photographer's eye . Although Frank Swannell was not a trained photographer he had the photographer's eye. His pictures are known for their clarity and detail, and they draw the viewer into the scene. Swannell tried to have the people in his photographs act as naturally as possible, and he was quite successful considering that most of these people seldom had their pictures taken, and many of the photos were taken at close range.
