The Ceiling of Complexity | perspective is everything
https://thetroubleshooteruk.wordpress.com/2010/01/14/the-ceiling-of-complexity
The Ceiling of Complexity. January 14, 2010. I came across this concept back in the mid 1990’s working for an entrepreneur who was way ahead in his thinking. His coach, in the US, named the theory and it’s identification in our business, at the time, changed our whole approach. Looking back this was a period of fantastic growth for me personally. The solution is simple: change;. Implementing that solution, however, is not easy, as we all know! In my experience the first thing to change is your perspective.

The Business Athlete | perspective is everything
https://thetroubleshooteruk.wordpress.com/2010/01/27/the-business-athlete
January 27, 2010. Out running early this morning, (training for The Jurassic Coast Challenge in March), it suddenly struck me how good I felt! Freezing cold, exhausted, hungry and muddy! Yet ready, with an active mind and full of enthusiasm for the day ahead. How many employers really consider the whole person that they employ or do they just focus on the 9 to 5 bit? As an employer would you consider the influence of these things on your employees and how would you deal with that? From → Motivation.

January 11, 2010. Reading the weekend newspaper, as I sometimes get time to do, earlier today. I came across a great interview with Dr Martin Seligman whose work I have followed at Authentic Happiness. Otherwise known as the happiness professor his mission has been the promotion of the field of Positive Psychology. This discipline includes the study of positive emotion and positive character traits. Try this the next time that you are in a position to give feedback. You start with four options:. But of c...

Not Politics, a Business Lesson…. January 16, 2010. Maybe I’m a bit slow, but I’ve just realised what’s happening to our country, but more importantly why! I believe that we are stagnant, a country lacking in ideas, scared to innovate and create. The reason for this manifests itself in many organisations across the UK. Accountants run companies. Don’t get me wrong we all need accountants and I know some great ones and have worked. From → Uncategorized. Larr; The Ceiling of Complexity. Leave one →. 8230;a...

Eyes on Training: Are You a Manager? Or a Coach?
http://eyesontraining.blogspot.com/2010/03/are-you-manager-or-coach.html
Friday, March 19, 2010. Are You a Manager? Watching my son play basketball last night reminded me of my days as a coach. I've coached 1. Graders in basketball, 3. Graders in flag football and spent several years as a head and assistant high school swim coach. I would have to say those were some of the most fulfilling jobs I've ever had. And the high school swim coaching jobs were the only ones I ever got any money for. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Are You a Manager?

Eyes on Training: May 2009
http://eyesontraining.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 19, 2009. That’s the Way It’s Always Been Done. Start by trying to open a banana from the stem end. Place banana aside at podium. I guess lunch should probably wait until after I speak, shouldn't it? But the banana does remind me of an experiment that was done with monkeys. Then one of the original monkeys was removed and a new one placed in the cage. The new one, seeing the banana, went after it and was immediately attacked and restrained by the others. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
