Sheri's journey. Surviving, Thriving and finding my Joy! Welcome to my Journey. Tuesday, July 8, 2014. July 8, 2014 Travels of #SheriConaway. Tonight, I'm reporting from.oh, wait, I guess "reporting" isn't really the appropriate word, is it. Tonight, I'm blogging from my daughter's living room in beautiful San Diego while kittens, cats and puppies jingle jangle through the house. Everything must be investigated, sniffed, licked and tested for durability before anyone is allowed to rest. Though this might...

Sheri's journey. Surviving, Thriving and finding my Joy! Welcome to my Journey. Wednesday, July 2, 2014. July 2, 2014 The ebbs and flows of inspiration. A week or so ago, I was so flooded with blog topics that I had to open a Word document to keep track of them. Today, all of those topics are crossed off, and the day was so quiet (I spent a lot of time sleeping again) that I didn't get inspired by anything I saw or heard. Yes, we do, but we also share another quality. Writers get writers block. It left m...

Sheri's journey. Surviving, Thriving and finding my Joy! Welcome to my Journey. Tuesday, July 1, 2014. June 30, 2014 Being predictable. As I'd hoped, my energy level was much improved today. As expected, I took advantage of it, and probably overdid it. But a week's worth of errands are done and I have all of the necessities for the next week or so. Who am I kidding? Instead of trying to vacuum and mop the entire house, I can take it room by room, leaving the living room for last, as it is the biggest exp...

You can now find me at survivingandbeyond.wordpress.com. Thank you for the years of support, and I hope you continue to read my scribbles. July 4...

Sheri's journey. Surviving, Thriving and finding my Joy! Welcome to my Journey. Wednesday, July 16, 2014. July 16, 2014 #Lessons learned by going through the process #shericonaway. Getting back into a workout routine after taking an unplanned, month and a half hiatus is a contradiction. Toby tried to help by playing mamo-cat on my chest, but unfortunately, he is not especially skilled in deep tissue massage as he stomps where he wants to rather than where I need it! As I ranted once before, I'm particula...

Deep thoughts from a shallow well. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. April 8 – Day 1 – Ultimate Blog Challenge. The Bane of Awakening [part 1/4]. May 16, 2013. The first defectively dampened whisper I heard this morning was, Mama, he looks like Bane! The evil guy in Batman who wears the scary mask. I was thinking Darth Vader,. He stage whispers nearly as loud. He doesn’t look anything like Darth Vader! He sounds like him, but you know Star Trek better than me. Please don’t wake Pops!

Deep thoughts from a shallow well. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. April 8 – Day 1 – Ultimate Blog Challenge. The Art of Fort. May 28, 2013. Making the idle comment that my 9 year old boy likes building forts, is much akin to saying the Easter Bunny is vaguely attracted to eggs. He is consumed. And obsessed with his fort building passion. Our sofas and beds spend a good part of the weekend and all summer looking like discarded skeletons in the desert. And you can’t stop them? If a hum...

Note: This is the final installment, part 4 of 4]. I got home and told my wife about the Sleep Doctor appointment. Doctors orders, Beloved. I’m supposed to eat and drink like Henry the VIII. And how is that different than any other night? Ha Ha Seriously, I need to fail this test to go further in the sleep study. Note: This is st...

To write or not to write...there is no question!: March 15, 2014 Debating

To write or not to write.there is no question! Saturday, March 15, 2014. March 15, 2014 Debating. I rewrote a chapter yesterday which I'm particularly happy with, but will, if not now, at some point, need feedback. After writing it and reading it to my daughter, I thought I might post it to get a little feedback from less biased readers (I love my daughter, but she has been following my writing for years, and is probably a lot more forgiving than others would be! Thank you so much for your comments!

To write or not to write.there is no question! Wednesday, February 19, 2014. February 19, 2014 Mercury retrograde and the AHA moment. I was going over some energy updates as I sat here trying to figure out why I felt "off", when suddenly it hit me! My aha, is that in light of the retrograde which began on the 6th, and my editing which began on Monday, astrologically, (hey, sometimes it really does make sense! How cool is that? To write or not to write.there is no question! Thursday, January 23, 2014. January 23, 2014 A long overdue update. So, the novel I started in November is still moving along (in fact, my muse woke me at the ungodly hour of 6AM today, clamoring for attention! The original 50,000 words has grown to almost 66,000 and I've designated this as a writing day (as opposed to an accounting day or an errand day). My goal is still to complete the first draft by the end of January which is (eek! Only about a week away!

To write or not to write.there is no question! Friday, February 21, 2014. February 21, 2014 Editing update. I'm finding that this blog is for those who like it short and sweet. I'm sticking to the facts and not waxing poetic (or not much, anyway). This week's facts are: 12 chapters, 57 pages edited. 3,000 words added, and I'm about 1/5 of the way done with the editing/rewriting phase of Book 1 of the Transition Series (still working on an actual title, but so far, nothing has knocked my socks off! Sure, ...

To write or not to write.there is no question! Tuesday, February 18, 2014. February 18, 2014 Progress is slow, but it is progress. Got off to a slow start yesterday, managing to edit/revise the first three chapters. However, I also spent some time researching and found that my imagined facts about the location were close enough to the truth, especially as I don't name places, just describe areas. I'll continue to use maps of the area to make sure I don't stray too far. Thank you so much for your comments!
