Instant Surgery | Surviving Breast Cancer
https://survivingbreastcancer.wordpress.com/2007/06/21/instant-surgery
Just another WordPress.com weblog. I called on Wednesday morning and told my surgeon’s nurse I needed to get my port put in for chemotherapy and within the hour, they had me scheduled for the very next day. They told me to be there at 9 am and we would put the port in and have me ready by the next week for the chemo treatment. I left work early on Wednesday, went by and picked up my orders, pre-registered for my surgery and did another set of labs. Of course, I should have been resting, but who could!
Successful Surgery! | Surviving Breast Cancer

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Well, I won’t pretend to know much about the actual surgery itself. Thank heavens I was asleep! On May 22, 2007, I went into the local hospital for a lumpectomy and a sentinel node biopsy. Of course, we had to be there fairly early, 9 am, but the wait would be fairly long as we were not a critical surgery. That was so fortunate for me and helped put me right at ease. I was so impressed with all of the staff at the hospital. Once I returned to my room, very loopy as you ...
Waiting Is The Hardest Part | Surviving Breast Cancer
https://survivingbreastcancer.wordpress.com/2007/06/20/waiting-is-the-hardest-part
Just another WordPress.com weblog. Waiting Is The Hardest Part. I tend to be a go-getter. When I discover a problem, I want to attack it and move on. This is how I wanted to attack my breast cancer. Go in, remove it, do a few treatments, declare myself a survivor and move on. What I was not prepared for was the excruciating wait that goes along with this whole process. You run to find out what is wrong with you and have to WAIT until the tests are in. But for me, the time seemed to pass so slowly. Yes, i...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. When they won’t talk… it’s never good! 8221; After a couple cursory questions, I finally pushed forward and asked, “IF I had not already done thebiopsy , what would you tell me about this if it were a routine screening? As the nurse walked me out, she said something to me along the lines of, let us know if we can help you on your follow-up scans. My brain began buzzing! The next morning I called his office, but he was not in. Again, when pressed, the nurses avoided ...
Surgery Consult | Surviving Breast Cancer
https://survivingbreastcancer.wordpress.com/2007/06/15/surgery-consult
Just another WordPress.com weblog. My OBGYN had gotten me a consult the very next morning with one of the very best surgeons in our area. I was very nervous. I knew this mean surgery and I could think of nothing I wanted more than to get the cancer out of me, but I could not even imagine what was going to happen to me. I knew one thing for certain, I wanted it out and I did not care if it meant they took everything along with it. My surgeon was someone my husband knew from his youth. We were not waiting ...

Surviving Boys
Created for parents of boys to share our common experiences and whinings. Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Sons grow up faster than I thought. My 2 older boys are both teenagers now. In my old way of thinking, I thought I still had 4 to 5 years before they go off to college and leave the nest. No one told me that when they become teenagers, they already think they are out of the nest in their mind. How was your day? Slight glance and shrug of the shoulder. Anything on your mind? Posted by Basketball Shorts.

Surviving Boys Town
Wasn’t Me…. I have a sensitive sniffer. I can’t do perfume, onions make me cry, and my husband is always shocked when I smell his farts before he does. With that said, my job requires privacy and I am located just off the lobby so it can get a bit noisy. I spend a lot of time with my door closed and, not to blame any particular person, it can get warm in there and a bit stinky. It’s no one’s fault but it happens, and yesterday was particularly busy and warm. I left work and had a brilliant idea. As soon ...

Surviving Breast Cancer | Just another WordPress.com weblog
Just another WordPress.com weblog. Today I had my very first AC chemo treatment. I am only scheduled for 4 treatments so I figured I could handle whatever came because I knew in my mind it would be short lived for me! After today, I feel like I can handle anything as today was a page out of horror novel. I had a wonderful nurse who stayed late to finish my treatment and help me out. She was totally awesome and I must say that the rest of the treatment went well. But honestly, after that I am thin...Serio...
