Celebrating Life, One Day at a Time: March 2010

http://survivingibconedayatatime.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Celebrating Life, One Day at a Time. Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Kind of a Bummer Day. Hi, everyone. I'm just home from Michael's lacrosse game and my radiation treatment. I forgot about taking a camera to radiation, so no pictures of that. Tuesday, March 30, 2010. So, that is what we know for now. It feels good to have a plan in place. It's been a busy and fun weekend, which has been nice because it keeps my mind off of all the cancer stuff. Not too bad as long as you're not claustrophobic. I'm going...

Celebrating Life, One Day at a Time. Sunday, May 30, 2010. What a Wonderful Week! It has been a wonderful week filled with fantastic times with my family. Joe's parents arrived Monday evening and Pam's family arrived Wednesday evening and it has been non-stop good times since! Everyone leaves tomorrow, but I am so excited to share the fun things we've done that I couldn't wait to post. We all literally had side-line seats! Michael entering the stadium and spotting us on the sidelines. Proud Mom and Dad!

I finished up my radiation treatments to my spinal column Wednesday night which means Joe and I don't have to drive up to Scottsdale every evening. A visit to Tucson on Thursday and Friday to see Dr. Livingston with no new bad news and the good news that the cancer has not spread to my liver! He was off running,...

Celebrating Life, One Day at a Time. Monday, February 22, 2010. Today was the day I went up to Tucson to see Dr. Livingston to find out where I'm at on the cancer front and make a new plan now that I had finished up with my radiation and chemo. I have been trying so hard to be positive over the last couple of weeks, but it was hard and I was an absolute nervous wreck driving up there today. And, my alkaline phosphatase was back down to within the normal levels! I tried to be positive and visualize him te...

Surviving in Bureaucracy

Monday, January 19, 2009. Learn to use a flip chart! I was immediately blessed when entering federal service to share an office with the chief of our office. Dave had been detailed from another agency so was experienced in the ways of bureaucracy. We were a brand new agency and seating was in flux. I was just fortunate, temporarily, to find a desk in his office and thus be able to observe a real pro in action. Sounds so simple, but I had never seen it down before. We read the legislation creating our...
