Wednesday, December 1, 2010. Is it really Dec 1? I've been reminded by friends that I haven't posted since May! I know you have all missed reading my kitchen appliance rants. But this Thanksgiving went off without a hitch, because I tricked my oven. I turned it on Wednesday morning and didn't turn it off until the last item was baked Wednesday evening! Just before Thanksgiving there was a headline leading to an article about the Kent Animal Shelter needing donations for the winter. I read the Kent Shelter.

Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Knitting and shrinking things. For my birthday in October, I received a really cool project bag that a friend knit, felted (technically, the term is "fulled") and filled with a skein of yarn from her stash that I coveted. She included several really helpful knitting accessories which I put to good use right away. Aside from being a great gift it was also an inspiration. Thank you Cheryl! If you're interested the pattern is available here. I know, how could that happen? They're...

susan b made: What was I thinking?

http://susanbmade.blogspot.com/2011/06/what-was-i-thinking.html

Monday, June 13, 2011. What was I thinking? Generally I don't take requests from the peanut gallery for blog posts, but my Mother suggested that I recount a craft-related incident, not only to her over the phone twice and in email with pictures but here too, in the blogsphere. She insists and her birthday was last week. Instead I scrubbed it, wrapped it and put it in a place of honor in the refrigerator to be ready for that moment with better available light for photography or possibly thinking that I wo...

Flea Fair: Beginning Watercolor Artists: Second Grade--Paint the Background Only

http://fleafair.blogspot.com/2014/11/beginning-watercolor-artists-second.html

Project ideas for Elementary, Middle, and High School Art Teachers. Sights, Sounds and Sundry. Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Beginning Watercolor Artists: Second Grade- Paint the Background Only. I wanted the students to try painting on one side of the line- in this case- the outside! The background is often ignored and appears as a big, white expanse. I wanted the students to realize the importance of the page and all that is on it. Many went over the line- and got good results. Open House, NY, 2014.
