Thursday August 7, 2014. Only one other truck, with a heavy duty trailer was parked in the lot. As we setup camp, a lone fisherman walked in. Turns out that he is from Stratford WI just 14 miles from my house! He had fished the area for many years and provided some helpful guidance as we looked at the map.

August 16, 2014. My first trip to the Canadian wilderness along the logging trail known as the Graham Road was to the Brightsand River in 1980. There were just four of us in my best friend’s girl friend’s (now wife) nearly new Ford Granada with two aluminum canoes on the roof, the canvas tent spread out in the back seat. Couple more weeks we can get back outside painting and in the mean time we are meeting at Bearhands Art Factory in New Bern to study still life painting so we dont loose our edge. We were all in the grove last fall.Our last paintout of the season was Harkers Island, a little boat and fishing village where the water and land meets the sky. Tuesday, January 31, 2012.
