Sweet Escapes

Thursday, August 13, 2015. Maui - Part 4. Our last full day and suddenly Ron was thinking of all kinds of things he still wanted to do. Six days in Maui just isn’t enough! We spent the day exploring Iao Valley National Park and Lahaina. First stop was Iao Valley, a lush valley in Central Maui and the second wettest place in the state, getting an average of 380 inches of rain a year. Ron and I both loved it! My first shave ice. The whole group (except Jeff, who took the picture). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sweet Escapes: Maui - Part 2

http://www.susancrow.blogspot.com/2015/08/maui-part-2.html

Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Maui - Part 2. I woke up at 2:30 and couldn’t go back to sleep. Argh! I hate jet lag. My body just does not like going west. For some reason, I find it much easier adjusting to the time change in Europe. I am definitely not the most coordinated person so I was crawling my way carefully up the rocks, using my hands for balance, when some man marched right past me like he was walking through the mall. How embarrassing… :-). Morning on the lanai. The Austin Powers car. For dinner...

Thursday, August 7, 2014. Happy National Lighthouse Day. A fallen lighthouse is more dangerous than a reef. Thank you to all the people who keep our lighthouses standing! Biloxi Lighthouse, Biloxi Mississippi. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hi, I'm Susan! I love researching and exploring new places. If I'm not on vacation, then I'm probably anticipating my next trip or documenting my last one. I'll take pictures of anything that will stand still long enough. Happy National Lighthouse Day.

Sweet Escapes: October 2014

Monday, October 20, 2014. London Day 4 - Cathedrals. Postcard of Westminster Abbey. Sunday, October 19, 2014. London Day 3 - Stonehenge and Bath. The next morning we had to get up a little earlier to meet for our Stonehenge and Bath tour. With Evan Evans. The drive to Stonehenge was two hours long but our tour guide, Rohan, kept us entertained. She was one of the best tours guides I’ve ever had, presenting lots of information in a funny and easy to remember way. Saturday, October 18, 2014. I ended up cir...

Points of connection in time and place. Me and my blog. The art of interpreting wildlife at RSPB Ynys-hir. October 19, 2014. The fleeting, changeable and unpredictable nature of wildlife is part of why we love it. It also makes it aggravatingly difficult to interpret. RSPB Ynys-hir. Rises to the challenge brilliantly. Ynys-hir in the Dyfi Valley is a beautiful place. RSPB Ynys-hir in Wales really impressed by taking it further. We found lovely examples of temporary seasonal interpretation. Timely informa...

Interview with Lynyrd Skynyrd - May 31, 1975 (Update). By now, most of you surmised that I am not a young pup after reading interviews Ive done with the likes of Arlo Guthrie sparking my own memories of Woodstock. Stories. It's all about stories. The narratives we invest in become us. For better and for worse. How can we give voice to stories yet unheard? How can we create a theatre that explores the true potential of humanity? That questions the status quo. That allows us to break out of boxes, shatter ceilings, smash through walls. That allows us to see and be seen in all of our beautiful ugliness and our ugly beauty. I'm permanently curious about human nature - why people do what they do.
