Susan Harkins moved to Pittsburgh in the Summer of 2008 to attend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for Graphic Design and graduated with honors in December of 2010. Since then she has moved back to her home state of Maine and has since been working many freelance jobs including, logo design and branding, packaging design, web design and illustration. Susan Harlan draws her imagery from fragments collected, made into specimens for studies, and transformed into abstract works. Often the works are studies of elements recorded from wind and water patterns. Recently, the work is translated using fused glass and mixed media materials from these drawn images.
