Monthly Archives: January 2016. Catching up on the House Projects. Back to the house projects! It is now January 2016, this picture was taken in July and the house is looking a lot different these days, OK, there is snow everywhere we look. Here is Terry burning slash and a look at the snow! Let’s catch up on the projects! When I last posted, Terry was working on the kitchen counter, dishwasher and sink. After changing our plans for a formica countertop, we have gone with butcher block stained dark brown.

Newer posts →. Moving on with Electricity, Septic System, the Furnace and Landscaping. The 2014 Fall in the Black Hills has been fabulous. If any of you remember last year at the beginning of October, the Black Hills had around 4 to 5 feet of snow, thank goodness for a new year. Two big projects are finished: 1. The trench that will bring our water from the well to the house has been dug and 2. The septic system is finished. Septic Container on its way down to the ground. Septic Container in the Ground.

Dennis our builder, took all the tree trucks for wood burning and we kept the branches for chipping into mulch. Our friends, Dick and Karen came over to help. The one question everyone asks us: “Have you moved in? Santa Fe Opera Poster! Lots of work to be done in the house, but I have our first decoration up, my Santa Fe Opera Poster! Pseudo Kitchen located in the master bedroom. Our little kitchen has a small refrigerator, microwave, and toaster oven. We also have a grill on the deck. Kitchen, dinning room and living room. Terry hooking up the refrigerator. The gas stove is out of the box and in place, but not hooked up yet, but the microwave is in place.

I finally took the snow tires off my car yesterday because I was certain we were finished with winter weather. And then, the most aggressive hail storm hit the area – at least it hit my area and turned everything white. The baby leaves were torn off trees, flowers were knocked down, and sewers were clogged with the vast amount that fell. I went for a lovely walk today. It was supposed to be up a hillside to the top of a lovely mountain. The route had to be altered due to the fresh snow on the dirt trail. The trail was snowy in some parts and muddy in others. The hike could have been accomplished however it would have been slow going. No aerobic points, no exertion just careful walking. Instead I took a walk around a lake. There were many people out enjoying the air, the sun, the wide open sky and the most amazing view. May Day in Colorado.
