I was born in Leicester, the midlands of England. I've lived in Leicestershire, Hertfordshire, London, Dorset and Hampshire. I'm a wife, daughter, sister, friend, companion, colleague. Acquaintance, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, and a good listener. I've been a girl-guide, teenager, student, secretary, tv. Roducer and a designer. I can knit, sew, crochet, ride a bike, swim a length, drive a car, wire a plug, change a light bulb, bake a cake, run a mile and still be home.

Hats need hat boxes and nice hats deserve nice boxes. With each new hat I usually acquired a new hat box - small, medium, large, most of them elegantly plain. Once the number of boxes had grown into double figures, I needed to differentiate one from another and pretty them up a bit, so I began to collect sheets and sheets of any gift wrap that took my fancy, and end rolls of wallpaper that I liked the look of.
