Sunday, April 1, 2012. An uncomfortable night. Wayne's o2 levels are hovering in the mid to high 80's and low 90's. His doctor told us yesterday that if the levels continue to drop, and stay below 85 consistently, he will have to move to ICU. And other, more invasive measures will have to be tried. The situation could be completely remedied right now, if only the right organs become available. Not much else to say. Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers. Please keep them coming.

Tuesday, March 27, 2012. We learned today that two donors were offered to Cleveland Clinic last night. Wayne was considered for both. One was not viable, and while the other was a good fit for Wayne (blood type, size, antigens, etc.), the donor was ultimately judged to be too old at 67. Saturday, March 31, 2012. Waiting, waiting.Wayne's o2 requirements continue to increase and he is no longer able to walk the nursing station circuit. He's road testing a new respiratory modality; it is quite the high tech piece of apparatus. So far, no big change and he gets quite tired with any exertion. We continue to feel strong and we avoid the self-pity thing. All you have to do is take a walk around to see what others are dealing with.the sick kids really get to me. Friday, March 30, 2012.
