The history of the world. Just not the famous bits. September 25, 2010. We’re both afraid, I suppose. I look at you and smile and you smile back, but not with your usual. You want to take my hand but you’re accustomed to my dodging your points of contact. As soon as the urge forms it is quelled. It’s hard to tell. Standards change, beliefs slip away with possessions, with loved ones. The letting go of others is equal to the letting go of self. For me, these are rich times. Lying back on a rock I watch yo...

My Sweet and Tender Hooligans. Contact James & Matilda. I would not, could not, with a goat! Put on your black shoes and stomp the blues. July 28, 2015. Good evening all. The manbeast is in the pub and both microbes are asleep so I’m popping in for a brief ramble before I nod off in my chair. The school outfitters. How very 1950s! We half expected to be met by a dapper little man with a tape measure round his neck and be sent away with a parcel of brown paper and string. I have no idea how. As usual the ...

My Sweet and Tender Hooligans. Contact James & Matilda. Author Archives: Susan Flockhart. Bonsai lady-geek and blogger. I can hardly recall what I used to blog about pre-microbes, but these days I generally ramble about motherhood, nonsense and whatever's going on the world of tiny people. Another brick in the wall. Not Knotty Lottie: September 2009

Monday, 28 September 2009. I don't think I will ever fail to love the process of blocking:. This is my 'Enchanted Canopy' Shawl - from Forest Canopy Shawl pattern by Susan Lawrence). I think my favorite thing about living in London (except actually seeing my boyfriend - unlike before when I was in Newcastle) is the amount and variety of different things going on. For example last week at the VandA. I took part in a gilding. Surprise, surprise I took some knitting needles). Have a go again in the future.

Dear Blog, I am in a state of dither regarding the microbe. Let’s start by stating the obvious: my son is not sporty. Which brings me onto the second point: my son is not terribly robust. He doesn’t get into fights. He is the sort of boy who cries if a gnat looks at him the wrong way. Suffice to say I long ago discarded any notion of...Benefit fro...

I think this baby wins at sibling schadenfreude. The other day I was ranting on at James about something or other and happened to glance down at her face, mid-bellow, and saw a look of pure, unadulterated glee. She’s exactly the same if I bellow at one of the cats. Purest glee. Green Eggs and Ham. Oh DO give it a rest. You are com...

Lizzie Dripping: August 2009
http://lizziedripping.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 23 August 2009. Had a lovely trip to Kew Gardens after work on Friday evening. I'm so sad that the summer is almost over. Where did it all go? Brought back lots of happy memories of our time in Japan. Early evening was a lovely time to visit as the sun was low in the sky and gave a special glint to everything. Love that perfectly raked gravel! Wednesday, 19 August 2009. A Bit of Old Fashioned Glamour. Today I spent the afternoon with Leila and Isadora of Nina's Hair Parlour. I found these fantast...

Thursday, 3 June 2010. Here's how much of a vegan geek I am. I brought this back from our honeymoon in Hawaii. The gluten does it's magic making the dough easy to roll into four sausage shapes which you then wrap in foil, tightly twisting the ends, and pop into a steamer. 40 minutes later the sauages turn out like this. Firm and tender, just like meat sausages. They're ready eat straight away or you can slice them up to top pizza, put in sandwiches, add to pasta sauces etc. More Snaps From Skye. They sho...
