Monday, 27 May 2013. We have a SOFA. For the first time in 4 years. It's amazing. It also has a table big enough to easily feed 4. I can't wait for dinner parties! Our kitchen has an OVEN, SURFACE SPACE and a FULL SIZED FREEZER. I am in heaven. John's Mum bought us a beautiful silk bonsai tree. It's so lovely and light. Thanks to both sets of parents for helping us move in! Sunday, 26 May 2013. I guess this is all a very roundabout way of saying that I'm trying not to take anything for granted any more.

Saturday, 28 April 2012. My next 30 hours (hopefully) go like this. Work for 4 hours. Waste 5 hours in Sendai. 6 hour bus journey to Tokyo. 35 minutes on two trains from Tokyo to Haneda Airport. 3 hours at the airport. 4 hour flight to Taipei. 30 minute train ride from airport to hotel. Collapse in a heap. On the plus side, I made tuna mayo and lettuce sushi rolls for my lunch today. Yum. And on the plus plus. Side, at the end of all that I have a week in Taiwan! Saturday, 28 July 2012. On Monday we managed to cross another thing off my 'To do before leaving Japan' list, and finally made a visit to Yamadera. Thursday, 20 December 2012. I wasn't a fan of the green islands. They look like somewhere the Wicked Witch from a fairytale might live. Too scary! But this was the view that greeted you as you went into Entsu-in Temple. Reds and yellows and oranges and greens everywhere! More scary witch stuff behind the main temple building. But the lanterns were lovely, especially when falling leaves got caught in them. Trees reflected perfectly in the pond. Looking at those leaves makes me feel like it's autumn!

Wednesday, 31 October 2012. Autumn Leaves are Coming! It's time for payback! Autumn weather we've been having recently), the mountains around my house are getting more orange by the day. Hopefully it won't be too long before they burst into colour, and the trees higher up the mountains are already looking lovely. I got to see the first of these lovely colours when my Japanese tutor took me on a quick car trip today to Johgi Nyorai Saihoji Temple, a Buddhist temple in the mountains North West of Sendai.

Friday, 31 August 2012. Bento No.30, Cute but Boring Pooh Bears. John went away for work for a few days, so I treated myself to a naughty breakfast: Welsh Cakes. They're really yummy, and are perfect for a special breakfast, alongside a glass of orange juice or even a smoothie. While cutting them out, my eyes fell on the Pooh Bear cutter I bought last week, and I decided to try it out. They worked perfectly, I was so happy with them!
