Sustainable Cyclist

Cycling. Sustainability. And More. Monday, February 22, 2010. A tale of apartment living. I moved into a two bedroom apartment back in May 2009 when my roommate and I moved out of a university dorm. We have adjusted easily enough to apartment life and non-dorm living. We picked our apartment complex because it is clean, close to campus, and the apartment complex pays the water bill. For a few months now we have been enjoying taking the recycling out regularly and avoiding the cluttered kitchen corner....

Sustainable Cyclist: I'm gonna need to see some identification.

http://www.sustainablecyclist.blogspot.com/2010/02/im-gonna-need-to-see-some.html

Cycling. Sustainability. And More. Saturday, February 13, 2010. I'm gonna need to see some identification. I have witnessed a few cycling accidents that could have been very dangerous, and the thought of being involved in a bad accident is defintely something on my mind everytime I get on my bike. A few weeks ago I got a cycling friend a Road ID. Gift certificate for his birthday. He is a cyclist, runner, and swimmer. He ordered the Fixx ID. I could buy a Road ID (I prefer the wristband ID). The trou...

Sustainable Cyclist: December 2009

http://www.sustainablecyclist.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Cycling. Sustainability. And More. Thursday, December 17, 2009. I landed on the name "Sustainable Cyclist," because I want to talk about sustainability and eco-friendly things, as well as cycling. But even more, it is a pretty eco-friendly thing to ride a bike as transportation instead of driving a car. And while these may be the two main topics of my blog, I will undoubtedly share more (like my transition and adjustment to graduate school). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Steve in a Speedo?

Sustainable Cyclist: January 2010

http://www.sustainablecyclist.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Cycling. Sustainability. And More. Saturday, January 23, 2010. Wednesday, January 13, 2010. Though I did not drive around the city, I can very strongly say that I would not want to even want to own a car. With the subway, buses, and (hybrid) taxis when necessary I know that my personal carbon footprint would be lower if I lived in NYC than it is living in Arkansas. These are just a few of my initial ideas about sustainable living in large, diverse cities. I think it's pretty clear that I loved visiti...

Tale of Photo: Blog Action Day!

http://taleofphoto.blogspot.com/2009/10/blog-action-day.html

Thursday, October 15, 2009. This honestly seems somewhat convoluted, but I hope you get the point. Our actions have an impact on even the smallest and cutest of God's creatures. So tonight, do something that will help to stem the effects of global climate change. Un-plug your electronic devices when you go to bed. Turn down your thermostat just a little bit on this cold night. Take a shorter shower. There are so many things you can do that are so simple, but that can make a big impact.

Sunday, May 2, 2010. Boy, I Need to Update. In an attempt to distract myself from studying for finals, I decided that I needed to update my photo blog! Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures worth sharing. (Sad story). However, I will be graduating soon and hope to devote more time to my photography and subsequently, this blog. Sunday, September 27, 2009. Getting in the Spirit. Anyone who knows me knows that I have an unhealthy love of Christmas music. So much so, that I begin listening to it months in advance. This has not changed this year, and I began listening today, so I thought this pic was very appropriate. I'm already very ready for Christmas 2009! Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Tale of Photo: School Days

http://taleofphoto.blogspot.com/2009/09/school-days.html

Wednesday, September 23, 2009. So, this is the first update in a while.sorry about that. I've just been busy. And I also saw this skit by Second City where the actors sang a song called "Nobody Reads Your Blog", and I got self-conscious. Anyway, I'm back, currently I'm trying to write a paper for my American Foreign Policy class. The picture above, I feel, captures my disdain for writing this paper. September 24, 2009 at 6:48 AM.
