The Environmental Literacy Framework is a guide for schools that illustrates what should be taught in each grade level to ensure that students graduate environmentally literate. It is the next step towards the implementation of the Environmental Literacy Plan. The DC Environmental Literacy Plan and Framework are also the local components for regional and national environmental literacy efforts, such as the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement. Environmental Literacy Coordinators at each of these schools are working collaboratively with DC Greens, AWS, and DCEEC to develop and pilot an Environmental Literacy Framework that can be implemented District-wide.
