Sunday, July 22, 2007. SO much has happened since my last entry! And this entry will need to be short as well. Tomorrow I set sail for the states. I am so sad to be leaving this beautiful country and my Nica family, but I am also very excited to see my family at home. July 19th was a really intersting time here in our world. Maybe a major change. After my interview with the big institution I have always talked about working for, in the department i thought only existed in my dreams, I of course had second thoughts. i mean, am I a career type? Could I go to the same office, same cubicle year after year? I mean I really never ever want to say I have an office job, and where this new big job comes with benefits and salary (say what! Also, the best medicine I have found to treat my sore throat and stuffy head is a hot totty. Here is how I make mine:. Put the kettle on and wait for the water to boil. Put a TON of honey in the bottom of a coffee mug. Squeeze a bit of lemon on top of the honey. Pour about 1/2 cup of hot water. Mix the ingredients, making a syrup. Add about 1/2 cup Flor de Cana rum. Tuesday, February 27, 2007. So not much has been happening around here. A lot of the same old stuff. So here is a little recipe for those battling from a cough and cold. This little syrup will put some hair on your chest and get rid of any phlegm in your throat. It is a cough killer. Just beware that it also a breath killer, so follow it up with some mouth wash or hierba buena. 3 ounces minced garlic. 1/2 pint vinegar [I used apple cider vinegar]. Bruise and mince the garlic to get it as juicy as possible.
