Charlie Baker - Q1, 2005. I'm a bit confused because airtightness is now a test for new buildings so have we gone full circle. I don't know so I'm going to try it out. We can't afford to re-roof yet, I've shoved foam up the chimney's so that there is still some ventilation but only a trickle and we'll see what happens. It does get very cold in the attic when the wind blows though. It's cold, ow! And HID lamps: the ones I've seen for night time bike riding come on immediately - iGUzzini's don't, they're b...

Comments from Green Modernism's Feedback wall - Come and get involved in the debate! Do they really mean it? We need them to! We need to move away from thinking that sustainability means sacrificing style, architecture and comfort. It's a shame that the majority of us will only 'Go Green' when its too late. Our profession (Architecture) should have the confidence to insist that our clients and contractors go down the more sustainable route. What can be done? You want a green house? This spring CUBE in Ma...

Interview on Sustainable Developments by Anna Fielding. WHAT ARE YOUR VIEWS ON 'SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENTS'? SHOULD BUILDINGS BE RENOVATED BUT REMAIN SUBSTANTIALLY THE SAME OR IS THE RECONCEPTION OF THE INTERIOR SPACE SOMETHING YOU DISAPPROVE OF? IF SUCH DEVELOPMENTS WERE CONSIDERED A VIABLE SOLUTION TO THE CURRENT PROBLEMS IN PATHFINDER AREAS AND SO NEGATE THE NEED FOR WIDESPREAD DEMOLITION WOULD YOU BE BEHIND IT OR OPPOSE IT? PS we also have lots of images of the areas including aerial shots. This commen...
