Scully's Blog Spot: Nudging Towards Tidier Parks
http://paulscully.blogspot.com/2009/11/nudging-towards-tidier-parks.html
Friday, November 06, 2009. Nudging Towards Tidier Parks. A few days ago, I posted a video. Which showed Volkswagen's brilliant way of encouraging people to use the stairs instead of an escalator. They have been at it again with 'The world's deepest bin', encouraging people to throw their litter away. The results speak for themselves. Friday, November 06, 2009. Scully's Blog Spot: An Economics Primer Sponsored by Amstel
http://paulscully.blogspot.com/2011/05/economics-primer-sponsored-by-amstel.html
Friday, May 27, 2011. An Economics Primer Sponsored by Amstel. Suppose that once a month, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all of them comes to £100. If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes and claim State benefits, it would go something like this;. The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes. So the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free but what about the other six men; the paying customers? 8220;That’s true! 8221; shouted the seventh man&...

Scully's Blog Spot: Big Society: Less Talk, More Action
http://paulscully.blogspot.com/2011/06/big-society-less-talk-more-action.html
Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Big Society: Less Talk, More Action. Last Sunday, I led a group of local students to clear a Carshalton school sports pitch of rubbish. The four Year 8 pupils from Wallington High School for Girls helped me clear the Camden Junior pitch in Carshalton in order to show that they were active in their community for a school project, collecting several large bags of rubbish and 2 fire extinguishers along the way. Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Peers Getting Their Pleasure. Working in the Houses of Parliament often throws up something new and something surprising. A number of us were slightly perturbed when we saw this on one of the screens known as annunciators which lets everyone know what is happening in the House of Lords. Thanks to the BBC website. I can tell you that it is not as fruity as it might suggest. The Lords has a dinner break and if nothing else is happening, they will 'adjourn during pleasure.

Thursday, March 21, 2013. New address for Scully's Blog Spot. I still seem to be getting a good few page views despite not having posted here for a while. Since finishing my term as a councillor in 2010, I have worked for the Reading West MP, Alok Sharma and now set up my own business, Nudge Factory Ltd. I am still involved in the community in Sutton and have recently been selected as the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Sutton and Cheam at the next General Election. Thursday, March 21, 2013.

Saturday, July 31, 2010. Big Society to Save Sutton From Big Mistake? The Leader of the Council in Sutton has joined David Cameron on his trip to India to tell people there about his very own white elephant, the controversial £8million Sutton Life Centre. Sutton has been picked as one of four councils to pioneer the Big Society as a Liberal Council, alongside Labour Liverpool and Conservative-run Windsor and Maidenhead and Eden Valley. Sutton have picked four projects to trial. The Council is a major com...

Scully's Blog Spot: No Votes For Prisoners
http://paulscully.blogspot.com/2011/02/no-votes-for-prisoners.html
Wednesday, February 23, 2011. No Votes For Prisoners. There has been a lot written about whether prisoners should get the vote and what we should do about the European Court of Human Rights. Both of these are highly emotive issues and so it is important that we look at the facts and respond in a sustainable manner. There is no point kicking off about something if the Government will end up having to comply anyway. So the Court says that it is up to Parliament to decide on whether we should give prisoners...

changeNonsuch: Answering Your Questions - Part 3
http://changenonsuch.blogspot.com/2009/06/answering-your-questions-part-3.html
Tuesday, 9 June 2009. Answering Your Questions - Part 3. What are you going to do to redevelop the eye sore that the run-down North Cheam crossroads has now become? What are you going to do to stop big corporate organisations such as Sainsburys, MacDonalds and Tesco taking over our local high streets? Trust me I'm a staunch supporter of both but I don't have to shave my head and stand with lookalike people to show it. I ask you to vote for me on this occasion because I am a local man, with a passion to i...
