Lane House Alpacas: April 2013
http://www.lanehousealpacas.co.uk/2013_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 30 April 2013. 4Kg from his pre-delivery weigh in. That'll do lad , that'll do. I expected him to run off afterwards and hide behind his pal but he jumped back onto the scales himself, keen to show Hamish how it should be done. How come I weighed 3/4 more a moment ago? We irrigated the eye with some saline, well ok, a Sainsbury's eye wash! I'll spare you the picture! Saturday, 20 April 2013. Every picture tells a story. This story is that one of the boys could not wait for the old poo pile to be...

Westhill Alpacas: July 2015
http://westhillalpacas.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, 30 July 2015. Next one is a girl, Judi and an lovely white suri I am so excited about! Time for a coffee and a piece of cake I think! Wednesday, 29 July 2015. Another exciting day here! Checked the girls first thing then went to do the sheep and then to the bank (never really feel comfortable going to see the bank manager! I should have then gone straight to Mother and the library van but I felt I should check on the girl's first - and glad I am that I did! Saturday, 25 July 2015. This is going...

Westhill Alpacas: May 2015
http://westhillalpacas.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Friday, 29 May 2015. The Bath and West. Wednesday was the Bath and West Show. I only went for the one day as there were other calls on time for the other days - and I only managed to take photos as we were setting up (I then forgot! You are quite right, Barbara, I managed no celebrity pictures! Wednesday was the fibre day so there were just a few alpacas there. The weather threatened rain at one or two points but managed to hold off - I think they may have caught a sharp shower or two there today. Saturd...

Westhill Alpacas: Part missing
http://westhillalpacas.blogspot.com/2015/07/part-missing.html
Friday, 10 July 2015. I am now starting to get my birthing stuff ready for the alpacas as they come into their birthing window in less than two weeks. Zara is highly uncomfortable in addition to being pestered by flies. And Bianca - well! Sam sheared her and appears to have given her a beard! I think, though, it will be Belinda or Flem who are first. I forgot to take photos of them. 13 July 2015 at 00:02. Wow the girls look huge. Looking forward to seeing the cria! 13 July 2015 at 14:22. But wow has it r...

Westhill Alpacas: Ellingham and Ringwood Show - plus cria!
http://westhillalpacas.blogspot.com/2015/08/ellingham-and-ringwood-show-plus-cria.html
Monday, 10 August 2015. Ellingham and Ringwood Show - plus cria! Ellingham and Ringwood Show on Saturday which meant an exceedingly early start - at least we were not taking any alpacas so that lessened the stress! I did have Zara due to birth but had the help of the lovely Tractor Boy who took his duties very seriously and must have checked her constantly! Kristy had her first go in the ring taking one of the colour champions round along with Carl and Sam - so a good day! Luckily Zara didn't produce but...

Lane House Alpacas: Helping Hands and Routines
http://www.lanehousealpacas.co.uk/2014/01/helping-hands-and-routines.html
Sunday, 12 January 2014. Helping Hands and Routines. It may not be a chore, but it isn't ideal either. The boys take themselves to bed at dusk and in deep mid winter its dark for both the morning and evening feeds. This means that sometimes they are settled down in the shed so we may have to rouse them and that can lead to moaning from Noah who had become 'grumpy uncle Noah' now the little ones have pushed him down the hierarchy. Listen Do-dah-Do , do you want to know a secret .". He He He - Poo! Clara g...

Lane House Alpacas: Cocky b'stards
http://www.lanehousealpacas.co.uk/2014/06/cocky-bstards.html
Sunday, 15 June 2014. So, in reverse order. But then we noticed him laying down a lot more than normal. Over a few days this got worse. Dougal - laid low in masses of buttercups. Soon after shearing we had turned the boys out onto the big paddock. They had been kept out of this for some time while we had been 'improving'. This has started with muck spreading. An event that provided amusement and disgust in equal measure from our city-slicker house guests at the time! The grass is always greener. Her sugg...
