A blog diary that follows my work as a representational still life and animal portraiture watercolorist. Friday, March 15, 2013. They live a peaceful, natural life here at this sanctuary. Thick coats keep them warm in their paddocks and shelter, and volunteers make sure they are socialized and tended to. I love the color of horses. My inherited birdbath served well as a model for some eventual paintings not to mention a good respite for my bird friends. Rolling the pedestal and heaving the basin was a major ordeal.
