I would be remiss if I didn't mention the waitstaff, that contribute to the positive experience of visiting Facing East. I was very impressed by how organized everything was despite how busy they were. Facing East does not take reservations. Call ahead for take-out. It is a simple and crunchy snack that one can indulge in at any time. This is always included in our Diwali Batchanams! 4 cups Bengal gram flour. 1 cup ground rice flour. 100 gm cooking butter. 1 Soak ajwain in water for 1 hour and grind with little water. 2 Strain through a muslin cloth and add 1 cup water to it. 4 Mix sufficient salt and mix thoroughly.

It is a delicacy indeed and one can munch on forever. 4 cups ground rice flour. 2 cups gram flour. 150 gm slightly melted butter. 3 tsp chili powder. Small piece of asafoetida. 1 Sieve rice flour and gram flour. 2 Add chili powder and rub in the melted butter. 3 Mix asafetida and salt in 2 cups water.

This conversation took me back to a recipe that my husband had pointed me to. My husband loves good food, but he would rather leave the cooking to me. He does, however, browse the internet in search of a good recipe and then I try it out. We make the necessary modifications without straying to far away from the original dish. Okay then, here we go.
