We moved to Somis in Ventura County, California, in 2000 from Pacific Palisades. Very soon I became aware of gourds. I had been an oil painter for 28 years and had moved on (or back) to work for LAUSD in a continuation high school in Van Nuys. I am a member of the Channel Islands, California, and American Gourd Societies. Thanks to Colleen Cason for writing the Ventura Star.
