Chickens, Bee's, Art and stuff! Tuesday, 17 February 2009. First painting for ages and ages. This is Jasper Punkhead, my favourite Polish chicken. He is gorgeous. Unfortunately most of the hens are twice his size, not to be thwarted he sticks his wing out and trips them up. Not very gentlemanly but hilarious to watch. I checked on the bee's today and they seem to be doing well. I can't open the hive yet as it's too cold but I saw plenty of bee's flying in and out and they looked healthy.

What a delight it is to visit them in their own homes, eat the last of their cornflakes and replace the empty packet on the shelf as a surprise, or to think of imaginative places to stick chewing gum for them to find after I have left and they are surely missing me. The joys of parenthood are immense!
