A Year in the Words of Broadway. Monday, September 17, 2012. Memphis Lives in Me. I got to see the touring cast of Memphis. I was particularly enthralled with the choreography, not to mention the brilliant leads: Felicia Boswell and Bryan Renkart; their talent was truly inspiring! I wish them (and the entire fantastical cast! All the best on the rest of their tour - thank you for sharing this story with Portland! The sun is sinkin' and time's got me thinkin'-. As we grow old, will our love stay strong,.

A Year in the Words of Broadway. Saturday, January 28, 2012. The last few days have been a whirlwind . I have had a lot of good times this week . and some unexpected hardships. Maybe you have weeks like this too - where you make extra effort and everything is going swimmingly and just about the time you start to take a step back and think, "Wow. I'm finally making progress! Something falls apart, and leaves you worse off than before as you start to feel your life spiral out of control. Again. That is, of...

A Year in the Words of Broadway. Saturday, February 2, 2013. What Are Your Dreams? This year I've been making a point of actually pursuing. My dreams - I was inspired by this well-known quote by T. E. Lawrence:. All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams. With open eyes, to make them possible. 2013 is a year of possibilities. Becau...

525,600 minutes: April 2013
http://ayearofbroadway.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
A Year in the Words of Broadway. Monday, April 1, 2013. Now I Am the Fool. A day of pranks, false statements and a surprising number of Facebook engagements. I don't think I have never enjoyed April 1st. Mostly because I fall for everything. From phony ads to gross food to hoax news articles. (Please note: Ji-Hye, I have never truly recovered from the vomit flavored jelly beans you offered me in high school.). Are you messing with me, or should I congratulate you on your pregnancy? In lieu of a lengthy "...

525,600 minutes: Hello!
http://ayearofbroadway.blogspot.com/2014/07/hello.html
A Year in the Words of Broadway. Wednesday, July 9, 2014. Long time no see, friends! Last night, my best friend and I ventured to the wonderful world of Portlandia and saw the brilliantly blasphemous hit, The Book of Mormon. The 2nd National Tour's opening night was packed - and rightly so! We agreed with all the buzz and found it to be the most amazing, achingly funny, and atrociously inappropriate show in recent memory - to quote Moss from The IT Crowd. A Year in the Words of Broadway. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Today will be a short post - and while it is not a showtune, it is full of beautiful Broadway peoples. I'm loving this brilliant lip-synced montage of "What Makes You Beautiful" starring the cast and crew of Broadway's ANYTHING GOES (I think 1,000 of the. Views are probably from me). This is a truly amazing group of people . and I hope to work alongside them one day. To the amazing people working at ANYTHING GOES. To my fellow DREAMERS.

525,600 minutes: Where I Belong....
http://ayearofbroadway.blogspot.com/2012/09/where-i-belong.html
A Year in the Words of Broadway. Monday, September 10, 2012. I am happy to say that while I may not have been blogging the last few months, I haven't been hiding under a rock ;) I have been performing in a production of Gilbert and Sullivan's H.M.S. Pinafore. Over the past month, every time I have arrived at the theatre for a rehearsal or performance, I find myself humming (and/or singing) "The World Above" from The Little Mermaid. I was meant for the stage.this is where I belong. It feels so right here.

A Year in the Words of Broadway. Sunday, February 12, 2012. Hey there - the past couple weeks have been crazy for me! Between moving (and decorating my new digs), directing/working, and embracing a healthier lifestyle . well, it's been busy! This is my year of making dreams happen (and it can be yours, too! So I finally gathered the courage/strength to make changes in my life. After all, why be miserable with the things you can control? And the next few I had " Whipped into Shape. If we don't fight for s...
