Wednesday, March 16, 2011. Boat Parade and Tennis on the Deck. Click on photos to enlarge). Joel and I arrived in Banderas Bay(Puerto Vallarta) on 3/7 in order to be ready for the 19. International Banderas Bay Regatta. Because of the whale encounter, our friends felt psychologically unfit to be our crew. Joel checked the Volunteer Crew list on the internet and found an experienced racer from, no less, Plymouth, MN! A regatta is a three-day race. The first day, we placed 4. 40-love charges past Liberty.

Thursday, February 23, 2012. Within a 1/2 hour bus ride we are able to find 4 great tennis courts. The courts are basically clay with a top layer of crushed brick. The adobe bricks are actually pounded by hand into smaller rocks and then put in a grinder. We saw the senor actually working with a small hammer, but alas no camera that day. Sunday, March 28, 2010. After sailing74 hours, yes, continous hours crossing the Sea of Cortez, we reached the Baja Penninsula. It was a pretty rocky trip with high winds, waves on our nose and water in the cabin! It felt really good to reach a sheltered cove and drop the anchor. There are many islands along the eastern shore of the Baja, some within hours of each other. Each one has unique geologic features and are an adventure to explore. After the sea lions, we had a beautiful downwind sail to La Paz.

Tuesday, February 22, 2011. A NEW SAILING SEASON BEGINS. With temporary crew from Dublin, Ireland, Joel explored the bird sanctuary, Isla Isabela. My adventure began by meeting Joel and Sarah in Puerto Vallarta. While in PV, we caught up with friends from MN as well as Chico, CA and had the joy of Sarah staying with us for the week. For two days we took these friends for day sails and saw many whales up close and personal. After a week in PV, Joel and I set sail heading south for Barra de Navidad.
