Our society has come to life more than 50 years ago to become a platform for African contemporary issues - it became a vibrant forum within the University at times of many African states becoming independent after decades of colonialism. Afrisoc is led by a President and Vice-President, both of which are elected once a year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Trinity Term. They are supported by a committee which is elected and/or appointed in the course of each academic year. Oxford Africa Society 2015.
