1 All food and drinks. There is drinking water here. There is sometimes fish for sale – please check, but all other foods must be brought. 2 Bring beach towels and shower towels. Bed linen is supplied. 3 Clothing don’t forget your hat and good walking shoes if you want to wander all over the island on the many bushwalking tracks to secluded beaches or good snorkelling places. Slip-on/slip-off shoes like crocs are good for around the kitchen area. 4 Sunscreen and insect repellent.

March 22, 2016. A snorkelling expedition from Svendsen’s Beach Retreat, Great Keppel Island. Our small, friendly affordable camping and accommodation retreat, is a 12 minute walk over the headland from a nice little reef in B Bay. We found lots of fish, two turtles, one hiding under a rock pretending to be invisible, three gorgeous clam shells with luscious velvety lips and some truly gorgeous rare corals! Great Keppel Island is a wonderful place to do nothing just relax, sleep or read, or take advantage of the great snorkelling (we’ll rent you equipment), bushwalk the many tracks to deserted beaches or along the ridge to the lighthouse, or kayak to the tidal lagoon. Lyndie has written two guide books one on snorkelling on Great Keppel Island and one on bushwalking on Great Keppel Island. You will find copies next to your beds. BYO food, and Carl can sometimes sell you locally caught fish.
