The adventures of Koukla and her crew. Koukla is a 60 ft gaff-rigged. Schooner built in Taiwan in 1984, and designed after the Gloucester fishing schooners. Koukla was purchased and refurbished by the Cowan family in 1997, and in 2001 they set sail for a 9 month cruise to the Caribbean. Danica Cowan, then 16, chronicled the family’s voyage in a series of articles published in the Rockland Courier-Gazette. These original articles and be found here. One thought on “ Koukla.
