S/V Independence is a 1980 Morgan Out Island 415 Ketch. While she may be 30 years old, she is a beautiful boat that was completely refit in 2006 with a replacement engine, new sails, new canvas and upholstery, and fresh paint. There's simply not much to write about while we're here in Jacksonville. We're just waiting for doctor's appointments and killing time. It's taking a lot longer than we had hoped, and it doesn't look like we'll be leaving and heading south until the 3rd or 4th week in January. Arrrgh! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to us. (29years). I finished remounting the solar panels yesterday and am real happy with it. It is a much stronger install now and both panels are facing the same direction. When the new controller gets here we should be able to go without running the engine to charge batteries. At the least we’ll be running it a lot less. Perhaps we can be productive tomorrow….or not. Of course there was shopping and other stops along the way. We got back to the boat at about 11:00 PM. Vicky at Butterfly Conservatory. Street Performer at Mallory Square. Sunset at Mallory Square. The parts came in for the carburetor today. After rebuilding it the outboard is still running poorly at low speed.
