Home Port for the Sailing Vessel: MIST. What to expect…. Speed, Distance and Time Table. 1 Knot = 6076 feet / hour. At 4 knots, Mist will need approximately 6 seconds to cover 1 boat length distance(rounded to 40 feet). 5 seconds if at 5 knots, 4 seconsd at 6 knots. Understanding that, will help guage the starting line to position the boat accordingly. Sailing with the Missing Link. Sunday, December 14, 2014. Lake Worth to Green Turtle. E left the Lake Worth Inlet on Thursday afternoon on the way to Great Sale Cay with two other boats, Lee Ann and Madeline. We had a good crossing, about 4 ft swells with a 12 second period on our stern quarter. It wasn't a great crossing, but it wasn't bad either.
